Updates - 2012

Well I'm finally in my new craft room - never thought I would move spaces, but it seems to be working out so far - and I'm making a total mess of it in the creative zone!  I have a lot of plans of projects to do, but it's always hard to find time to do them all!  (I know I'm not alone here!) I just can't seem to find the time to update this blog like I would like - I run another blog - about books and what I'm reading that I update more regularly.  But I'm hoping to continually update this blog with pictures of my latest scrappy projects as well.

So what have I actually been working on?
I have decided to start Project Life for 2012 - I have a few weeks to catch up on - and I really want to finish my scrapbook of our trip to Florida last May. I'm on the home stretch and while I'm having a blast creating the pages, I can't wait to close the FINISHED album!

Here's a sneak peak of some of the things I've been working on:

12x12 Layout of the Pixar Parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Project Life - Weekly Starter Cards to get myself organized and caught up! For more information of Project Life, check out Becky Higgins' Blog.

Halloween Card #1

Halloween is in the air...

Does that mean it smells like smelly feet?!? ...I don't know about you, but I'm smelling CANDY CANDY CANDY!! =)

My first attempt at blending with Prisma Pencils...

Card front

Card Base:  4.25"x11" scored at 5.5". I used Papertrey Ink's Summer Sunrise.
Then I cut my mat at 4"x5.25" using Pink Paislee's Phantom collection.
Other papers are from Fancy Pants - Oct 31 collection.

Stamp image: C.C. Designs Love Lolita Pumpkin Rubber Stamp
Stamped on Papertrey Ink White Cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prisma Pencils, blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits.  Then I cut out the image using a Spellbinders die from the Small Ovals pack.

Flower trim - Webster's Pages

Happy Halloween sentiment: AmyR's Autumn Sentiments

Inside Card

Paper Party - Day 1

Day 1 of the PPP!

Today's Prompt: To use your scrap pile.

Here's my "scrappy" layout:

I don't even know where all the scraps are from - 3 Birds, DCWV, Echo Park, Prima
Alpha Stickers - AC Thickers, Recollections, October Afternoon, BasicGrey
Stamp sentiment - Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards - This is the Day
Bakers Twine - Pink Sorbet from The Twinery

All you need for this layout is your scrap pile!

And I've learned to print directly from my iphone which makes things even quicker and easier! :)

Paper Stash

Party Icebreaker - SHOW YOUR STASH!

I only had a few minutes to take pictures this morning before I had to dash off to work so I didn't have time to take any of the pretty papers out of the containers, which is probably a good thing - I would definitely have gotten sidetracked...

Just a few papers...

MORE Paper - mostly cardstock and
paper packs in the bottom of my cabinet.
I have 2 of the JetMax paper sorters.

Simple Scrapping

This layout idea comes from Shimelle's Scrapbooking Starting Points.

For this layout I used scraps I had on my desk, all except the pink polka background.  I didn't cut anything.  All I had to do was tape it all down! Simple! I ♥ it!

From the Stash:
12x12 base - Pink Polka - The Paper Studio
Strips of paper - 8.5x11 Toile - Recollections, Teal Strip - DCWV, Yellow Birds Strip - 3 Birds
Bakers Twine - Pink Sorbet - The Twinery

Endeavour Layout

Even though the Endeavour Space Shuttle didn't go to the Moon, the paper seemed to speak otherwise! :)  There was no paper that said "to the International Space Station"...at least not that I could find...

Recipe Ingredients:

Kraft CS 12" Base Paper: Bo Bunny - Blast Off, October Road - Rocket Age, Fancy Pants -
Alpha Stickers: Bo Bunny - Blast Off
Bakers Twine: The Twinery - Denim & Mandarin

Also used: October Afternoon - Rocket Age Miscellany package, The Studio G rhinestones, I-Rock Stencil for rhinestones, Bo Bunny - Blast Off Stamps (Rocket on left), Ceramcoat Paint - Rain Grey & Metallic Silver

Bloopers: I was SO excited to FINALLY use my i-rock and stencil for the blast coming out of the rockets...well first I couldn't get it to turn on and then I couldn't find my rhinestones...so I ended up using some self-adhesive rhinestones after using the stencil and marking a dot where each one needed to go...took WAY TOO long to do, but I like the results!

Our Trip to Space!

I have finally gotten back into the swing of finishing layouts this weekend and am so stoked! I finished 10!! They are all from our recent trip (in May) to the Kennedy Space Center near Orlando, Florida.  We were there just days before Endeavour launched, so we got to see it still on its pad site.

For this double 12x12 layout, I wanted to highlight the map we received at the Kennedy Space Center and I have drawn on it the path we took and what we did.  I love having maps included in my scrapbooks so I can go back later and follow our footsteps.

Recipe:
Kraft base cardstock: The Paper Studio
Paperlines used: Bo Bunny - Blast Off, October Road - Rocket Age
Alpha Stickers: Bo Bunny - Blast Off
